    I'd be pretty certain it's a Ruger 77/22 hornet or 77/17 hornet bolt. A couple of small shims between the two parts of the bolt made the old man's much less frustrating (more accurate).

    Sounds like you have a good plan. Don't get too carried away though. Once you have emptied the water as much as possible and cleaned up with the meths just keep an eye on your water separator/filter....

    Nah, thats the Armys M27. All M27s made after 1934 had the popsicle stick nosecap, and most of the early ones had them added... Here's a pic of my M27 - might make me feel less jelly of norsks...
