That was completely unnecessary, and reflects badly on the poster Personally I would not pick a .223 in any platform to hunt deer, it's capable for it-just. As has been said your margin of...

Yes easy. I shoot 75-80% of my deer with my 223, have done for the last 5-10 years and I am usually shooting several deer a month. This past month I've shot 9 deer, all with the 223, all one shot....

Listen Rambo, for most it is not a sensible calibre to shoot large animals with, how many have you just injured and left (full of small calibre holes) to hide somewhere and die a slow and painfull...

The biggest problem causing the ammo and components shortage is the Americans hoarding, Some of the forums I visit there are people bragging about how much ammo and components they have stashed away,...

I blame the bloody Pollies for stirring up all the bloody Preppers and Red Necks. Obsessive Hoarders the lot of them. Cheers Pete

Hi Matt, I havnt had experience with .222 FMJ. But I have had a fair bit with 5.56 FMJ. First in Vietnam, I never carried the Armalite, I carried the M60. But I did closely examine some of the wounds...

My only problem with .223 on deer (I have shot deer with .223 for the record) is that people often consider all ammo the same-I have seen a mate shoot a deer with a round that was made for varmints...

Scribe, I have read that the .222 FMJ would tumble dramatically as it cut it's path through a deer. Did you find this to be the case? This would perhaps explain one of the reasons why it kills...
