Yep. Chrono them too. I found factory Sub-X claimed at 1050 was doing 1142. My guess is that without a gas port tapping off some of the pressure, it's driving the bullet too fast.

Manufacturers often use canister grade powders not available to us reloaders. It might be a different powder from batch to batch as well. Positive identification is gonna be difficult and chances...

You using factory ammo or rolling your own? Factory uses slow powders to help cycle those naughty semis which makes more pressure at the muzzle.

You'll get a fair bit more in there without running into compression like you are with AR2208. Heavy for calibre in 223/308 seems to be where it's good. Next time you're comingv up Canterbury...

1% of case capacity, rounded to the nearest .1 is a decent guideline.

My Hawke works well. It's the 3-9 one. Turrets are capped and underneath it isn't numbered, so dialling it is risky as it'd be easy to lose track. Illuminated reticle for low light is handy - it...

Aww shucks. 763 does turn speed up to 11 over AR2208. Sadly I've not always been able to get the same kind of accuracy and consistency once I get above 2208 speeds, making 763 a bit fruitless at...
