I think I said at one point (whilst we were discussing scopes and the uselessness of plain duplex reticles in wind) that "I like this scope and how easy it is to precisely dial for wind. But that...

I've got the 62gr Maker T-Rex which work out at $89.90 NZD/50. They kill stuff extremely well too.

It's not just a fad Micky. I probably have some confirmation bias being the owner of two fast twist 22cals, but the numbers are convincing: heavy high BC bullets help the 223 punch even more above...

The 223 and 243 have velocity on their side and the 308 has frontal area and mass. With the Grendel, you kinda have neither. The 123gr SST's are very soft bullets though so they do open up well....

I'm saying that 10 thou is not far enough away from being jammed to aleviate the potential pressure spike from the bullet not having that run up. So we're in agreement, no?

Different bullets have different profiles which results in manufacturers giving them different suggested COAL's. The suggested COAL for the bullet should give it plenty of jump in any SAAMI/CIP...

I'm responding to this statement: You're saying that 28.5gr in your rifle is giving you less pressure than 27.5gr gives in ADI's test rifle. I'm telling you that that is not the case after...

You aren't getting less pressure than book max. Book max will be within the SAAMI limit of 55,000psi. But the CIP limit for 223 is 62,000psi which you are just within according to GRT. 256548

No, ADI got 3384fps with 27.5gr from a 24 inch barrel, not 3480fps. Speed and pressure go hand in hand. You are getting more speed than ADI would have gotten if they had been using a barrel as...
