Wood stocks might not rot but after a week in the rain I’ve had them swell considerably so safety’s would function and likely impacted the accuracy. It’s good to take this out of the equation.

I would 100% put my money on it being a primary extraction issue. If the brass is tight it should have a heavy bolt lift too breaking the case free, if not, it is not doing its job and anything...

It's unlikely that you will get near 2200 fps with cast bullets even with gas checks leading will be a major problem. 1600 to 1800 fps is more realistic Factory ammunition in those weights runs at 22...

Remmy barrels can be turned down to fit small ring Mauser action's easily enough, but there's not enough meat there to fit large ring Mauser or Howa , Vanguard action's I usually build on. Boomer.

Have just been in the Ruahines, and stags were roaring well. Roared all night last night, and on and off all day. Roared in a scrubber, and high tailed it to get the meat chilling

Was in pureora south and barely heard two moans over the weekend, while a mate of mine in a section in the north shot a massive 12. Hunting was very hard with crispy leaves all around.

Loving my 17" 7mm08, shooting 120gr ttsx at 2970fps, has been veridied on steel out to 685yds( more than what i want to shoot with it) and taken animals out to 210 so far, intended for close up stuff...
