Born in Auckland. Hunter and shooter (professionally and recreationally) for 54 years. Was actively involved in SAR as a park ranger, and SAR Adviser and Search Coordinator for NZ Police (35 years). NZ Mountain Safety Council bushcraft and firearms safety instructor (22 years).

    Spoke to an Arms Officer recently: he indicated the backlog of renewals created by Covid (vettors couldn't get out into the community) has diminished considerably, and renewals are taking 3 months.
