    I used a kinchrome one at work for 8 years which was still good. Have now got a Starrett one which works fine. Mitutoyo if you can afford them.

    I think what Pommy means is get a 270. Seriously I use a 270win and have shot deer, tahr and wallabies between 5 and 320 metres with a 3-9 scope.

    IMO 4.5 is too high for lowest magnification if you ever want to use it in the bush. As Stagstalker said, a 3 - 15 would be better.
