This is the only way I use a sling, sits lower and less likely to get caught on over head branches. Niggeloh sling with just the webbing loop over barrel.

OK here's a mock up. The webbing I had isn't long enough. But it shows the principle and also that it can be done with minimal hardware (I hate hardware - usually just a rattling failure point)...

RossNolan I have a friend who did a Sika with the lid off his Tuna tin when he released he’d left his knife behind :D :D I use a Gator and carry a Mercator as a spare/lunch/camp knife
