I think you mean "throwing it away" Lots of us have (or still do) but we still can't hunt / fish in these "other countries "for free or just the cost of a licence. Nor would they rescue us...

Make em pay. I think we need to keep the resource for kiwis. If i were to go overseas to hunt i would probably have to pay good money why should it be any different for non kiwis to hunt here.

That's another issue entirely. You need to know someone. You don't need to know anyone to hunt here. If you don't know anyone you pay and pay shitloads in Scotland/Ireland where I have been. I...

To be honest if I had the say, I would not allow any overseas entry's. I don't give a shit about them. They contribute nothing to this country but they take bits of it away. We get pushed around...

Ban overseas people from the ballot blocks, they have plenty of other options to go hunt tahr, leave our wilderness areas for us, it's our back yard, we deserve to be able to use it Sent from...

Rigged? I'm not sure thats the word to use or not maybe more like system cheats? at the expense of kiwi hunters. The problem with the tahr ballot is the system is very easily cheated same with...

Finally shot something to hang on the wall, roaring in a small open section just on day break, zapped him at 268m. Took a while to stalk in on him, a great hunt. 36065 Roared this guy in to about...

Maybe we could sell em a house o their way thru Auckland. FWIW my view is local hunter should be the ONLY ones able to enter the ballot, full stop. but then I happen to also have the view that in...

Thought I would start a new thread on this so as not to hijack the other any further. There seems to be a real issue with the Haast roar and Hooker/Landsborough Thar ballots. Mates and family...

The people who poach are of the mindset they'll do whatever they want to. You could set up more land, ballots, and bags of lollies by the side of the road and it won't change human nature - get...

Few more pics from the last few days; Reds still roaring on and off, had a bit of fun with a couple of young reds, roaring them to within 20m. Hit one with a stone when he came into about 8m to...

I started doing mine like this. Slow on the first one but getting the hang of it now, a long narrow boning blade makes things easier. https://www.flickr.com/gp/102578758@N06/3m6hr7
