Hi all Just a quick question, has anyone had success targeting Chukar in Otago? I have seen some below Mt St Bathans whilst chasing sheep but that was last century. I was wondering about hunting...

Moving away from the OP sorry, but it's fascinating how much variation we all have in our shooting styles. I can understand why Flyblown wants high magnification for shooting birds at long range (for...

Yeah nah maybe I also use my scope on high mag most of the time, because usually it's a one bird one shot type scenario at longish range for a .22LR. But sometimes there's a whole bunch of...

Ultimitsu - I sometimes wonder what world you live in. Field of view is critical for hunting/field shooting of any sort, and as I've mentioned the top gong shooters I know run scopes at pretty...

That NF 2-10*24 that Danny has for sale would be awesome. Moa dial but illum milrad reticle.

As a broad general proposition this is not wrong, but as is the case for all general propositions, in reality things are more nuanced. In my all small game hunting I have never once felt I needed...

What Flyblown says about power is correct. The guys I know who win at 22 comps run thier scopes at 6x for most shots. My own 22 comp scope is a 3.5-10 and I've never found it a limitation.

I would be wary about getting “too much” scope for a rimfire. If you are competition shooting or always shooting longer range gongs, then a 6-24 is cool, but if it is a small game hunting rifle then...

I have both the 4-16 and the 6-24 of these (Nikko Stirling Diamond LR) and they are very useful scopes for the money

Arken SH4 would be my pick. We’ve had a good selection through our store of affordable mrad’s and the Arken are a level above anything else in their price range. However they are hard to get due to...

I'm running the Vortex Diamondback Tactical 4-16x44 FFP. This scope has been a game changer for me. The mil reticle provides perfect correlation with subs, and being FFP its not dependent on...

I picked up an Athlon Midas Tac 4-16 at the recommendation of Blair from Section22. Was great advice!

As Beetroot said, short pralaz is the key for rimfire scopes. Vortex Venom etc might be worth a look. If you could mention magnification range and expected price that would help a lot to narrow...

How much do you want to spend? Any Mrad scope will work just fine for a 22lr, parallax that adjusts down to 25 yards can be an advantage but there are lots of scopes that'll do that. I do lots of...
