    Olympus is pretty hard to beat, The Kuiu stormstar would be another one to look at (2 man) The macpac Aspiring would be worth looking at being a 3 man, but is heavier than what you're talking...

    I think the modern solution is buy a modular pack system, so you can swap bags off the same frame.... eg: Mystery ranch, kuiu etc... The old solution is just hunt with your main pack cinched up...
