I ran mine at a very slow but very accurate 2650 fps with 162s and 2213sc. Still killed everything stone dead.

Some very interesting comparisons puffin. If we are comparing the improved version of the .280, perhaps we should compare it to the .284 Shehane? I think your figures show that the .284 is pretty...

For me it’s a bridge too far and tips the balance too much in the hunter’s favour. I have always been of the opinion that the hours of darkness give our prey a little respite, which is now being...

Can’t help with Quickload, but mine is 3.5” OAL at 20 thou off with 208 ELD-M and 77.7 grains of 2217, 215 GMM, Nosler Custom brass. That is not a compressed load, so yours is unlikely to be too....

+1 - eye relief needs to be right for you and too many gun shop workers really don’t know how to correctly mount a scope.

Beautiful timber on that rifle. All of mine are plastic or carbon stocked, but I’m developing a walnut and blue obsession which is going to get expensive.

Dave Ward in Dovedale does. He’s doing one for me as we speak - 7-08 to .284 Win. The last one he did shoots 162s ELD-X into .5 MOA 5 shot groups. He knows what he’s doing.

That’s true. My T3 .300 Win Mag kicked like a mule in standard configuration with 208 A-Max. I fired 50 rounds on a range in San Antonio, Texas and felt pretty sore afterwards even at 104 Kg. It...

Cancel that - absolute rubbish. Getting my rifles confused. It’s either impending senility or I have too many rifles.

A good micrometer seating die is a help. I use Redding Competition seaters which adjust to 1 thou. Also good to set your die so that the press cams over a touch, which gives consistent seating depth....
