All the fawns I've seen in last month (maybe 70-80) have been 3/4 the size of mum and happily eating grass, except 2 lates. I guess like most things it's area dependant. Still here them calling for...

We watched 3 pairs of hinds/fawns on Sunday night. Watched one pair for a good 1.5 hours. All fawns were hard out eating grass and leaves just like mum for the whole time. Never saw any of the fawns...

Just go hunt it, be an adventure for sure, odds are you will hunt it differently to someone else and as a result you will see things they wont, including deer. Make up your own mind about the areas...
