I use these to good effect in an 18inch barrel with cfe223. I only shoot them at 100m so nothing validated. Someone who ought to know said the ,520bc was a bit ambitous and he figured them for ,477

I find 165/168 to be the sweet spot in 308. If I had a full length barrel then maybe 178/180

I would use 165s or 168elds with cfe223 in a 16inch 308. I'm using 165speer btsp in an 18inch and find it a happy medium. As others have said, there is a lot happens after 350m or so in alpine...
