in a 6.5 cal you don't really want to be trading off speed/energy imo. If you're only bush hunting < 200 yrd then you will be ok, but if you want to stretch out the effective range i would not...

I say the Brno 602 is a better rifle, and likely has a better trigger, however from my experience, the husky 1600, will be a lot lighter, slimmer stocked, , I currently have one in 9.3x62, personal...

I use and love 414 in my 260 and 284. My 260 barrel won't stabilize any thing heavier than 123gr tho. I'm generally at 46 - 46.5gr h414 with 120-123gr bullets.

That would be a rebarrel not a rechamber. It would also be like buying a V8 and pulling 3 spark plug leads off.

I think Norma sell a 120gr cartridge but for the most part 6.5 = 140gr. The 6.5 really comes into it's own when you hand load though. If you don't already then now is the time to start, take the...

Mine really liked Sellior and Bellot but they were 139s. I paid around $35 per box but that was a while ago now. The ones I have seen and used, dont seem fussy on ammo and were accurate with whatever...

Yep do this: $200-$300 gets you a Tikka barrel, gunsmith screws it on and head spaces it, job done. New Sako barrel with a Tikka stamp. Get another in .270.

For a 16inch barrel and 120Gr projectiles I would use 2206H, heavier use 2208

Max Headroom You don't need a rangefinder. Just don't shoot anything further out than 200 yds (182.88 metres)

If you need to know the range, you need a rangefinder. Its that simple

Even the bullets with average BC's will work fine out to around the 400m mark you are happy with, just pick one that you can load to fit the mag and go for it.

Sometimes he has worthwhile stuff to say, and sometimes it's not so much....... people overthink guns/cartridges/bullets at times.

2 points I would take up. I brought up the 243 but did not mention long range big game hunting. 2nd the risk of wounded game comes down to the person behind the trigger. Each of us makes a...
