.222, closest I could get to a .223 for the K95. Fingers crossed it is a 1:12 twist. Hoping to use 60-63gr projectiles. The rimmed .224 cartridges are too much of a hassle to get components in NZ.

IF I had private land to hunt...maybe. without it I would be in trouble in no time at all. a handheld thermal for spotting is still way outside my budget..give it ten years and maybe the price will...

Have necked up to 270 from 6mm then to 257, no problem with WW and Norma brass, good primer strike, just the R/P brass not achieving good primer strike, 40% failure, will get there in the end....

What is it you're looking for specifically ? Lightweight at the expense of efficiency and longevity or a balance of them all. I made some cans ages ago as part of a bet 150gm, Aluminium & carbon...

Fair call, horses for courses. I wouldn't be without mine and love it, the .4 inch group shot with the above load was worked up in 6 shots. I have since got the same results because a very kind...

Send that last round aiming at the middle of the front end. At this point with an already wounded deer you are just trying to kill it in a shorter time than starving/dehydrating to death. The good...

You might be over thinking things just a tad, just get out hunting and enjoy yourself otherwise you will chew up heaps of components, be no better off and never go hunting.

I don't think this scenario is that likely with handheld thermals. When you spot a heat signature it is actually quite hard to figure out exactly where it is. Trees and surrounding features look...

People who shoot at unidentified heat signatures are also probably members of the groups that shoot at sound, movement or unidentified targets in general. They’re out there, just look at the numbers...
