At the time high BC heavy for caliber projectiles were not a "thing". Twisting it for the available 130/150 grn and blunt 160grn was probably the exact right thing in that context.

Greetings, What we need to do with the 270 is to speed up the twist a bit to say 8.66" so it can stabilise heavier projectiles. Perhaps move the shoulder forward a bit and sharpen the shoulder...
