    A friend shot his first pig with his 300 winmag when we were looking for deer 140 lb or so boar at 150 meters hit it just behind the ears, damn near blew it's head off, and bloodshot the meat right...

    Any centrefire from 222 up is fine. If you not going to carry out the pigs either take someone with you that will lol Or take the legs of, makes a good roast, easy to carry out. Can bone them out...
