I once handled a J Rigby & Sons Mauser from 1909. I had always thought they would simply be a Mauser action nicely finished in a good stock. After all there was only so much you could do with one I...

I’m from Canada. I have a 7 year old and a 4year old. I’ve been in NZ for almost a year. I just an air rifle and I’m teaching my boys to handle it properly and responsibly and to shoot well. I’m very...

They make kit for people with small peepee's. They don't actually do anything better than a $4200 rifle... in fact in many cases they don't do anywhere near as well, like a lambo getting eaten by a...

200 grains of gold pushed by a good dose of powder should do the trick from a distance ;-) All that matter is that you recover most of it so you don't lose too much on your investment :-)

308, Maybe so ... or maybe it's just that what got said was all there really was to say. For my part, I did have second thoughts whether I should have made my submission (given that the...

And the argument they keep bringing up that guns are designed to kill is great. So too is the main equipment for baseball, cricket and golf. They are all adaptions of the caveman's favourite tool the...

There was way more to that case than an "accidental discharge". Like my neighbour: Went off the deep end at me when I offered (to the husband) to take them to the small bore range. Kids were...

timattalon liked post by Maca49 On thread : NZ Police has chilling problem: they're Killing, More and More
I shot two deer this week for the meat. I've no concern over the kill as long as it's fast. Police shooting of humans should always be the choice of their life or the protection of someone else's...

timattalon liked post by Pengy On thread : NZ Police has chilling problem: they're Killing, More and More
How many can say that they rejoice in taking an animals life, even that of a nasty boar or a biting dog ? Very few I would wager. Taking a human life, even a scumbag in the line of duty, is not...

timattalon liked post by gadgetman On thread : Open country mountain rifle. 7mm Rem Mag or 7mm08??
Since you already have a 243 I'd go 7mm Rem Mag as a step up. 7mm08 is too close to what you already have. The difference in ammo price is small in your overall hunting costs. What part of the...
