    I removed it, just chucked some soft packing foam back in there. Was about 10 grams worth to fill the stock. No noticeable noise difference in normal use. Knocks off 250 ish grams from memory?

    can't answer the sound issue but if it did you could always re fill with expanding foam, surely that would be lighter than the goo and deaden any hollow sound a bit ?
