I love my .223 especially with the 75gr eldms, my son shot his first deer with it. However there is very very little margin for error. Hit a small piece of anything before the animal, animal moves...

Most .223s can not run those projectiles, you have to remember that. 1:8" etc are a fairly modern thing so with that in mind take those projectiles out of the equation for most .223 users and find a...

I don't think I have head shot any with them but chest shot quite a few. My load isn't going super fast as it was just the most accurate load. Tend to mostly shoot hares and rabbits with them.

If you want cheap accurate projectiles Delta Mike do the 75gr flat base hollow points for $40 per 100 and they do a significant amount of damage to small critters.

The 95gr targex are a bit more frangible than the SST. Explode but the damage they cause is phenomenal. Shot placement on a big Red stags would need to be directed with a little more care. Only...

The BC of the hollow points is utterly terrible at a whopping .234. What they lack in BC they make up in price ($40 odd per 100), accuracy (amazing best I have found in .243, flat base likely helps)...

Huge loss to the NZ waterfowling community. His legacy will live on through the many duck callers he made. Condolences to friends and family.

.357 will do out to 100 ok. Other option if you aren't shooting many goats is to buy some .308 ammo from Belmont. Some stuff is around $2 per round, perhaps cheaper if you buy in bulk. By the time...

Work really well. I have used hundreds now over the last couple of years. Culled plenty of big Red stags. A lot of animals over 400 yards. Very capable projectile and one of my favorites in .243,...
