I guess if social media was around when rifle scopes first arrived on the hunting scene there would have been a similar discussion about the ethical use of scopes?

I agree. But I actually hate the word ethical. Often people use the word ethical to reassure themselves about something they have done which may be controversial.

IMO buy a dedicated Beacon, i know a guy who blasted all of his battery using the GPS and messaging function that when he legit needed to activate the SOS function it was dead.
