Dude I would be more worried about hitting them if your using a 10/22, they aren't exactly renowned for accuracy, not taking the piss ( well maybe a little ) but you might have to really experiment...

I also know of a guy who uses a 410 with solids as a bail gun on pigs, apparently very effective. Hunts on DOC land, I don't know if it's ever been an issue
