Been a shooter from 14 years old (School cadets - 22RF, Air Training Corps - 303 Service Rifle, National Service - FN 7.62 NATO, 9mm submachinegun, varmint hunting Australia - 22/250 Rem, 12 ga claybird targets (Down the Line mainly & novelty field shoots, Trench), NZ - 12ga clay bird DTL. 50 Barrett M82, 500 S&W Magnum revolver - USA. Loved it all.

    My suggestion: if you already have a good rifle in 243, 7mm08, 6.5 or 308, use that money towards buying more ammo for your existing accurate rifle (s). It will give your more fun and much less...

    I'm not sure but I wasn't game to try his heavier ones. I'd do exactly what you are thinking of doing, go from 61 and see. Powder's cheap, eyesight gets expensive rather quickly.
