    There is a good reef off Oamaru but its very "weather exposed" and a bit of a run home if the weather turns to poo. Boat ramp apparently there is also a bit awkward at times. My brother has done ok...

    mid summer there have been kingis not very many miles north of harbour..... never tried it myself but if was put on the spot,look at chart,find some structure and go and give it a whirl...the area...
