To consider whether something is "the best" requires assessment criteria. In the world of selecting a cartridge, there is very rarely a single clear "best" option assessed against criteria, more like...

My t3x shoots 145 eldx and 130 grain fusions roughly into the same ragged hole and drops big stags with authority. My experience with 270 and I own 308 is the modern powders, projectiles have upped...

Stop cherry picking,if you want to compare apples with apples do so.a immature granny smith is not the same as a crab apple. That 145grn is better than the 143.... And IF you really want to nit pick...

Most my hunting life I have had a 270 Win, at present a Tikka T3, the calibre has performed well. Accurate , hard hitting , not to bad on recoil make it a good all rounder. Are there better…….. yes...

Preferred the 30-06 over the 270, had both but not in my stable anymore.

Hahaha, went on a hunt yesterday and bumped into a couple of guys at the first point you can glass the block from ( about 1.5k from the carpark ). I asked them how far in they were heading to which...

It's longer, louder, inherently less accurate, had greater recoil and consumes more powder than other cases that equal it. But works just fine. The exceptions that people come up with just proves...

But it's 99 years old! Everyone knows old cartridges are no good. Look at the 6.5x55, 7x57, 3006, 303, 8x57, 375 H&H plus a heap more. Absolute rubbish .

Was where ended up at for a one-rifle-to-do-everything after looking into all the options a few years back. Only downside for me was the length. Best at 24" and with a suppressor on the end of that...

Nothing wrong with it IMO but for a long time there were better choices. With much of our NZ hunting being in country where shortish barrels are preferred, the factory ammo for 270 just didn't suit...

Tikka has a smaller tenon, so the larger Rem tenon simply turns down - have fitted several Rem barrels to T3's. And, they all shot like a Tikka barrel would have.

I had a Remington barrel put on one for my grandson. Not sure how the gunsmith did it but it must have fitted somehow.

7prc is a long action, 300 prc a magnum length action. Both have the same .532 inch bolt face. I’d say, as someone else has pointed out the mag would need to change. Not sure if the magnum length mag...
