Yes trophies are memories weather they are big or small, i have a few memories out in the shed for when I struggle to walk the hills.

"Trophy" means different things to different people. Its contextual. I took this chap out yesterday and he was thrilled to shoot this prime meat animal in stunning surroundings. Just look at that...

Woody liked post by grandpamac On thread : Why…? Rings marks/scoring brass after FL resizing?
Greetings, Another vote for a rough chamber. The case springs back a little after firing so you don't see marks on the case until you re size the case. The marks on the rom and in the rim recess are...

It's free. It's dry. It arrives on your doorstep cut to fit your fire. Burns well and leaves little ash. No problem really.

Long weekend and it's "roar time", so what's a bloke to do? stay away from the bloody hills is what! The old girl over the road from me turned 90 the other week, had her pic and a write up in the...

Woody liked post by craigc On thread : Wallowing Stag - Raw video
The stag that I shot recently came charging across a face and headed to a wallow, where it spent quite some time before I shot it at 230 yards with my 7mm RM. I videoed the entire thing and thought...

Woody liked post by Marty Henry On thread : Hunting with a lower powered scope
Saved my 1-6 strike eagle off the naughty rifle, now it's on a 7.62 x39 sometimes I use it on 6, mostly on a lot less. Thinking about it even with my higher powered scopes I rarely shoot things at...

Woody liked post by Cigar On thread : Hunting with a lower powered scope
I had a 2.5x fixed power on my 308 for over 25 years (now it's got a 2.5-8x), zeroed at 200m and never had any issues, so double the magnification would be fine to 300m. I have another rifle a with...

Woody liked post by Dama dama On thread : Hunting with a lower powered scope
I have always hunted with lower powered scopes. The vast majority of deer I have shot have been on 2.5 power. At 300m 5 power will be plenty.

I'm pest control rather than hunting as such, but I happily used 1X red dot on the old E cat out as far as the calibre would reach, now using a 1-8X scope on my new pest control rifle, and have not...

Woody liked post by Husky1600 On thread : Hunting with a lower powered scope
I tend to prefer the lower power scopes, but I like good glass. And that makes a huge difference. Shot more animals in a 5 year period with a 222 fitted with a 3X than all my other rifles put...
