   I will say it again , as kids we used to have a mouth full of lead slugs most of the school holidays and more . I are now in my 70's and haven't turned nutty yet , nor my mates .

   Yeah there's no safe level of lead for human consumption. Try not to eat it. I manage the risk while continuing to use lead bullets by not taking meat from close to the likely fragmentation...

    Have a look at Tentman and his post about the bergara stoke. They come with a adjustable LOP with spacers in the butt. Available in a range of calibres including 223.
