Thread: 120gn 7mm08 loads

I use magnum primers too...I need to hurry up and try Nos 120gn. 46gn 2208 was ok in my model 7 but approaching max.

In my 18" barreled 7 08 I'm using 110gr TTSX, 50gr H335 gives just over 3000 fps. Shot one deer at 150 yds and 2 goats at 100 yds, all one shot kills, all projectiles exited.
2206H might give slightly higher velocities with the 120gr in the short barrel.

Thanks Stug - yes my by barrel is 17.79". I have some 2206 so will try that, but accuracy first velocity second.

I also seat mine at 2.890" COAL but u will either have to cut about 1/8 of an inch out of the mag (which is quite easy to do) or get a long action mag
