    Not my choice of calibre/barrel lenght , but then it's you're rifle. But if it does turn out to be a pig , why not just shorten the chamber and turn it into a 308. 12mm off the end and a clean out with a reamer and it will be way cheaper than a rebarrel .

    Mate had one, 168gr amax and 2209, 2208 or 2206h be my take on it. Should get 2600fps or there abouts. Will kill deer fine from 10 yards to 500 plus.
