For the intended purpose I would probably stick with the 140gr bt, can use a nice fast powder to offset sorter barrel effect a bit.

Actually cost wise the amax would be a good choice and performance still be good
Over 3000fps Impact speed be wise I would expect more violent expansion/frangibility but haven't shot enough animals at this speed to say for certain, definitely under this speed im yet to have issue, some of the 7-375 or screamer users would probably have more info on this as they have to be pretty close for me to hit them at that velocity
expands down to about 1600fps
e: impact
never shot em silly fast, haven't got an upper limit
Most factory loads group under an inch out of it apart from hornady sst it hates them. Recently I did 2 3 shot groups at 100 yards with Belmont ammo and the first one was about 0.3" and the second was just under half moa, that's the best I've ever shot, Belmont is expensive and hard to find though.
I fully bedded the stock with match grade bedding compound, which turned out good.
The barrel has a 9/16-24 thread so barely any material has been removed and the crown DPT put on it is really nice.
Would the heavier 162amax have much advantage at 400 yards in a moderate wind over general 140gr?
