Threw together a load with the 168 ELD-M last week and it claimed it's first victim this afternoon. Quite different performance from the 165 Nosler BTs I have been using. Shot was quatering away at 30 yards and there was no exit. The BT would have gone straight through and left a 50mm hole in the opposite shoulder.

it will be interesting to see how much damage it has done....hopefully not too much bruising..... Ive got hind hanging in garage with holes across rump from 100yard shot and shoulder that could be a little interesting from a 180grn at 30ish yards...... the sausage meat bucket might need draining a time or three methinks.

I shot a stag at 300 with a 7mm 162 ELDM (3K) last week. Hit high in the shoulder and it made a hell of a mess. Biffed the shoulders.

The shot went behind the near shoulder and the off shoulder was hardly damaged. Gives the impression that I won't be aiming for the big bony bits on stags at close range with these projectiles. Can't complain though she didn't take a step. I have had plenty make 30-40 yards with a BT hole right through them. Not that I am knocking the BTs. They work great but need to be going a bit faster than what I was driving them in the 308.

That's always a good shot to make if you have a long carry.

well the first shot at hundy+ only grazed across rump making coffee cup sized hole...the close range 30ish shot in shoulder/neck was a bit of a mess..actually found bits of jacket in bruising. surprised as sierra 180grn arent known to be super soft.... stuff all meat loss really all things considered, maybe 1kg tops, pleased with outcome...
