Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts
yeah to be sure...point Iwas trying to make (and seems failed miserably) is that a 1.5moa load of those whalloping stats is pretty farken good so dont sweat it if it isnt sub moa. some of us will never ever need sub moa to kill deer. dont write it off as piss poor load, maybe keep it for close to medium range and figure out something more tack driverish for waaaaaay out long if your heart so desires.... eg my poohseventy has 170grn round nose speer load that delivers a whallop if it would only do 2" at hundy it would still be my go to bush load(it so happens to be most accurate load of all,go figure) I can chuck in any of my other loads if so desire, flavour of choice at moment just happens to be 140grn hornady as rifle was sighted in for them and its sub moa and deer fall over.
No info on pressure but I would think it should be fine as reloading books are conservative with there load data. Just start at say 54 grs and work up, you may be able to go above the book max but if you can only get around 2600- 2650 fps before you max out you still have a grunty load that will work a fair way out. Should be dynamite out to 200 yards. Recoil was no worse than the 180 gr loads I was using so all good in that department.
Danny will be keen to hear how your load goes.
What rifle you using @Robojaz ?
Same twist as mine and barrel length so results should be similar. Be interesting to see what velocity you get with those higher charges as I have only gone to 55.2 grs.
208 Amax using Superformance chrony read 2500 FPS today. Groups were horrible and nil sign of pressure at 55.5 and 56.
Will try a couple slightly higher to see if I can tighten them (no idea why) mainly because I can...

mate in the states had similar issues with superpreformance powder with poohseventy loads.....funny when he stopped looking at chrony and looked instead at group size load was pretty darn good. might just need a wee tweek as all info on superpreformance says where its good its very good but seems to have narrow band of goodness.
Shoots the 168 and 155’s well. Have loaded another batch slightly hotter.

The max load for the 208 gr A Max is the same as the 200gr ELD X ( 56.7 grs )and according to the book you should be able to reach around 2650 fps. R 17 and 19both do around 2600 fps. R17 max is 53.9 grs and R19 59.4 grs is Max.
What rifle you shoot Danny ?
Sometimes a rifle or powder/ projectile combo may not click. Have you tried other powders with that bullet in that rifle before? If so how did they shoot ?
