    223 and not 222 but 2206 or winchester 748 work great (and meters awesomely,like BM2) in both the wee case and the 308.

    748. Marriage made in heaven like HH on a playmates breast. Outstanding with 60gr Hornady.My mate whom I load for gave some to his mate. Took a rest closed his eyes and head shot fallow stag 180m in head.Using a Vixen.

    25gr 2208 (compressed load) + 55gr HDY SP w/c at 3025fps - previous owner's data for a Sako L461. I shot a fair few goats with this load. Currently using 24gr W748 + 55gr Sierra SMP with good accuracy.

    @WireWorking just out of curiosity how many gr of 2206h are you running behind the 53gr projectiles?

    I am using 22gr of 2206H, Fiocchi primers hornady projectiles and Lapua cases. The velocity is fairly pedestrian but this load shoots amazingly well out of my CZ 527, for a rifle with a shoelace for a barrel it is still competitive out to 300m
