My experiance is with AR's so may not directly apply to a bolt gun shooter. I have the 68gr Hornady's leaving the barrel at 2860fps, from a 16". I have managed to get the 75gr equivalent moving at almost 2600fps with a book max load, I think in my AR I can push it harder, but it is already compressed. My friend uses the 60gr NBT's out of his 14.5" AR and has found it kills goats and deer like lighting. I'm going to try some too, mainly out of desperation to actually get projectiles to shoot. Also tried the 70gr Berger's, which go awesome at long range, never shot anything with them though.

I recommend 2206H for a powder, have always found it gives the highest velocity and best accuracy from 55gr to 75gr. 2208 is a little too slow IMO, if you are running a barrel shorter than 20". Good accuracy but slow.

Interesting. I only shot a few fallow with them, so it's possible I'm judging them unfairly there, but was definitely seeing a lot of pencilling and delayed kills on wallabies.

Mine was a pretty soft load, so it's possible they just weren't going fast enough for best effect. Out of an 18" bolt gun.

For availability and accuracy you could try 69 grn Targex and 2206h. 3k from 20" 1:8. Deal to deer ok.

Not cheap! $100ish iirc. I bought enough to last me a while. Only plan to use them on deer and the like.
Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.

I'll ask Rob what he thinks. But I would think he wants something a bit cheaper though

Had quick kills on wallabies at 130 and 300 with the 68bthp from mine, but pencilling with delayed kills up close. Haven't tried them on any goats yet either.

$56 per hundy. They are accurate but pricey.
Being over gunned is under rated.
