    .224 52ge targex

    Hi guys

Ive been using the 52gr targex for a bit in my 22 250 AI.
They are very accurate (i get sub .25moa) but ive only had them on steel out to 400m or so which doesn't mean much on a 200mm plate.

Anyway, how accurate is their .220 advertised BC?

I just ordered a new lot so will test it a bit better, but i have consistent velocity and the groups are tiny, but now i want to dial in the BC as i know most are only tested at 100 yards or so.

What are you guys who are pushing these bullets out to longer ranges using for a BC?

Ill shoot them on paper at 600 yards or so to dial them in properly once i get a bit of time.
If you can't kill it with bullets, dont f*ck with it.

If you have the ability to shoot to 600 easily why not just use the quoted bc and verify in 100 m increments if needed. I've used them in a swift out to 450 yds on hares and found them interchangeable with the 50 gr sierras I usually use, mind you any amount of wind at that range blows you all over the place.

I used .220 for a 200 yard zero and had to come up 3 clicks at 300yds when verifying. 3250 fps.

Thats exactly my plan when i get out again to verify it. But i asked in here in case anyone already had some data since more data = more better

Sorry. That was 3 clicks at 200 yards when I verified.

To be clear. I sighted it in at 100 yards for a 200 yards zero using bc of .220. When I verified at at 200 yards I was 3 clicks low.

I havent used the 22 cal projectiles, but have tried both the 6.5 and 30 cal projectiles. I used Bryn's BC for load development and sighting in. Then verified from 400 to 700 and found I needed to up the BC just a tad. Verifying will be the best bet, stick a big sheet of old ply or something behind a target at 4 or 500 and just bang away a 5 or 10 shout group.
