Buy whatever your bigger rifle uses so you have the excuse to buy more of it. ADI 2213sc isnt the fastest choice but it has a more gentil pressure curve and it fills the case more (imo thats better than less 2209 for consistant ignition)
I ran a few powders over quickload and im content with my choice. Its the same charge incidently so that was a lazy bonus

Well got some targex 95 grainers from Bryn.
Great guy to deal with and chucked some for free in to try.
    Winchester 70 lightweight circa 1990
    Any pet loads for these?
Fast would be nice but doesnt have to be. Just not slow.
An acquaintance is doing the reloading, when I can walk around and give him all the cases dies etc. letterbox drop off-don't want to burst his bubble
He loads for a shit ton of stuff so would think he has some powders to suit. Will discuss with him after feedback
Get a progression of loads to try before we load the rest. Obviously be a while the way things are going.
    What do you reckon

When I had my Model 7 . 243 I was running 95 gr Targex & they are an awesome projectile and killed animals well, like you say, Bryn is a top guy!

As for powders, I was just using AR2209 which gave great accuracy but I can’t remember what speeds I was getting.

Anyway, it’s great to be running a NZ made projectile

I've found N160 works very well with the 87-100grn pills in my savage bit more speed and consistancy but more expensive.

Well what powder do you have? Every rifle has it's own likes and dislikes, try 2213 or 2217 or 2209 anything in that burn rate will do. Go read the powder manufactures manuals on line and have a stab at it.

    Hit a small snag.
Just rang the dude-happy as a pig in shit to do the reloading but didn't mention what powder.
Anyhoo he only has magnum primers for the 243.
Much of a biggy? he had a quick look and info suggests dropping charge weight by a couple of grains.
Unless there is someone in Kaiapoi I could sneak round a grab a lazy 20 normal ones from?

I always use mag primers in all my rifles but I've never compared one with another.
I've never heard that you need to drop the powder charge.

Purchased some 87gr Berger but hesitant about 95gr because info is 95gr require 8 twist or less. Anyone using 10 twist because 87gr from their website says 10 twist ok.

The 105 will give you trouble, but the 95 will not (based on a Rem 700 and T3 that both stabilized the 95 just fine) Powders : 2209, Re22, 2213sc, IMR4451, IMR 4320, 2206h all work (in my rifle). 2206h will really get the 87gn VLD zipping along, put it in the boiler room not the shoulder. (95 in the shoulder is fine) Other powders work too, just those are what I have and they work well.

Im loading 87gr Bergers with 44gr of H414 in Dads original Rem Model 7 (whatever twist they are, 10 i think) they shoot seriously good, but it liked lots of jump to shoot best. Velocity is 3,128 with a ES of 2 fps!! from the factory 18.5 inch unsuppressed barrel. They shoot 1.25" group at 300 yards. A bit of a magic load in this rifle.
