    260 and h414/w760

    Anyone using this with 140gr?

The data I have seems a bit pussy with 41gr max and partitions. The 142gr sierra funnily enough has 43.5gr max.

I've got 140gr eldm with COAL at 2.93. 0.02 off lands.
I'm thinking of starting at 41gr and hope to end up around 43gr.

Interested to know where others ended up with all the usual precautions considered.

I would say you are in the ball park. I am using it in 6.5 Creedmoor, so a slightly smaller case. After a LOT of testing and working up slowly past the max published figures I am sitting at 42 .7 grns and also using magnum primers.
Really happy with the results now ( it took a bit of perseverance )Also running 139 scenars. For an estimated MV of 2600 fps

So I am sitting 2.5 grns above the recommended maximum of 40 .2
I did find that as you get close to your rifles potential max load, the sweet spot really kicks in. I will be watching for pressure signs again when the weather heats up.

Every one seems to love 2209 and it performs well too, but i love the way 760 meters.

Cool, good to know. A bit more speed than the 2209 generally. The temp. Stability might be the only gripe I have though I haven't noticed any difference in pressure signs or POI in my 284. S chrony might tell the tale.
I wonder if temp stability is more of an issue in Europe and North America where the winter to summer range is huuge

Gold winaa, think ill use that directly. Seeing how these projectiles are seated a long way in makes me thinking about revisiting the 150eld in my short action 284

I use and love 414 in my 260 and 284.

My 260 barrel won't stabilize any thing heavier than 123gr tho.

    I'm generally at 46 - 46.5gr h414 with 120-123gr bullets.
