Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

Let us know how ya go with yours. The .260 barrel is 24" I can speed her up if I want with the Amax but cant see the point. The swifts were doing 3045fps at the same charge as the A Max so It should get a tad faster. They shot around an inch at 2 hundy but may get tighter with a bit more speed. Still have heaps of mucking around yet.

From 6.5mm up it is Ha Ha Ha Ha

Na, it certainly is. I was worried I was giving them too much as the AI case does not show pressure like a bottle neck case, so I have been told. Primer pockets and lack of CHE is telling me all is sweet and I am not near max yet on either projectile.

I forgot to mention that seeing we throated for the high BC 6.5 projectiles she is now a long action. They stack and feed well from the L/A mag even with a bit of travel to the breech.
Doubt if throated for a short action using high BC projectiles you would see the full potential of the chambering.
I tried 2213sc and couldnt get enough in the case. Its equivilent is a popular powder choice in longer barrels than mine.

I am now trying to decide on a 7mm chambering for a bit extra range on static targets. I have always like the 7mmSAUM or standard .284 Even considered a .284 Shehane but it may be too much of a hassle for little gain. .280 AI is another I am keen too try.
I am not keen on any belted magnums.
