I would expect you'd be able to get up to 2800 or slightly over.

nice shooting mate. all depends on what you want to do. out to 300y, just go shoot it. 600y and you should try some groups further out
Id just leave it at that velocity since Amax is a quite soft bullet. You may of course have to give it an extra click up when you get out to distance compared to 2800fps but thats no biggie. Tens of thousands of moose are killed in Sweden every year with 140gr 6,5s at that velocity.
I'm a velocity whore so understand where you coming from.... however those are stellar groups for a factory rifle. It ain't broke so just go out & hunt
But that doesn't make the 6.5 magic. And mostly they use hard bullets like the Nautilus and other big heavy blunt ones within quite close ranges don't they?
Dale, I reckon that at about your 2750 fps you have got yourself a really handy all round calibre in a superbly accurate rifle. I would now get to know its limitations on game, rather than test its extremes on game.
That right, but if a moose tips over so should a deer no matter the species.
The heavy softpoints have a wide following but softer bullets like SSTs are getting more and more popular. The 140gr partition is also very popular.
No copper bullets are used as they dont meet the legal bullet weight limit.
Just made some ammo of this exact load I didn't full length size the brass or anything so I'll See how mine goes
@Phill243 I started at 41.5 but grouped well under 1/2 with that load but speed was about 2590 odd would be keen to see how you go
Just sell it dale someone will grad it even though it's a dud.

My bad I did full length size the brass I mean I didn't trim it haha .stupid me I was writing that while I was driving to the range . I didn't have a chrony so I don't know what speed I was getting I had a little bit of primer flattening and one round had tight bolt lift but I put 3 rounds through all touching but one round half inch to the right I think that was me .
The shot that's in the bull was an old load I used for barrel fouling . And the other 4 down the bottom are me sighting it in a week ago after getting it suppressed
@Phill243 i don't use a suppressor but if that's how she shot then no need to worry about the 123gr amaxs
Yea I had my 260 unsupressed for over a year and I never did much load development because I knew I knew I was going to buy one . It would possibly change the load. So 2 weeks ago I sent it to DPT . Really pleased with results . Mainly for my dogs and my hearing . Yea I'm going to move out to 2-300 yards and see how the grouping goes . Is that a vx6 on your rifle ?
