    Jake,

I picked up a Rem 700 .30/06 mid last year and loaded up 57 gns of 2209 behind a 180 Nosler BT.

This load is regarded a pretty reliable accurate and quicker (2700 fps) load for the 06.

The load shot bloody well 2x 4 shot 100 mm groups at 300 meters. But I blew 2 primers and one case cracked above the web. Primers were showing some chefs hatting.

At close to 2700fps you must be near max.

I have just tried some RL22 and AR2213 loads with the same projectiles. Not seeing the pressure and hope to get equal or better performance.

A mate in England tells me he is shooting 178 ELD-X in his .30-06 using Swiss powder RS60 and getting 3000 fps!

I don’t know anything about RS60, but it seems to yield good velocity. Don’t think his brass will last long at that rate.

He used that rifle for driven boar over Christmas, accounting for 3 boar, 2 roe, a fox and 2 fallow.

Done some reading and Swiss RS60 appears to be RE17 by a different name.

Wonder what his barrel length was?
    Good information.
