Hi, I`m ready to go bush, got the 170`s and have loaded up 20 rounds, 30grs, 3031, in 3030, with the 170gr bullets, should be the go for close bush stalking. Yep I`m finally going down on Sunday the 9th to Whirinaki forest for a five day hunt, Cheers, Homebrew.357.

I know this is an old post, but I'd be keen to know what your load is for these 170s?
I've recently bought some to try and load them. Was thinking of using 2207, as I have 2207 and 2209 already.

Adi list 2207 20.5grs to 22.5grs with a 170gr Sierra no loads with 2209 to slow burning

I have always used Varget / AR2208 in the .30/30, and with either 34.5 or 35.0 grains with a 150 grain bullet, get good accuracy and 2300 fps out of three different Winchester 94's.
For 170 grain flat nose, I use 34.0 grains and get excellent accuracy and 2100 fps.

I should start casting bullets for mine as well and see how they go, on the other hand I have already loaded enough ammo for my .30/30 to see me through the Yanks invading and the apocalyptic dystopian wilderness that will result.
