    .308 - 150 grain speed please.

    Hi, just a dumb question.
A 150 grain pushed with 47.7 of 2208 out of a 20.25" tube will be going how fast please? Approx obviously. Will get in line for the chrony to validate.
    Thanks. I think.

Thanks. In your humble opinion what would or could max speed be for said firearm? Is that about it? I have no pressure signs yet however I know it's a fine line. I need to chrony to verify anyway but just jumping ahead.

And the North Island forum crony is at my place at the moment, I'm just waiting for a new brain for it. Then it's available to whoever.

2900 is pushing pretty hard with 2208, not a brass life load.

Nothing on speeds. Need to chrony. Accuracy is NOW good with 150 Accubonds.

The Kimber 280ai shoots the 140 to the same height as the 162 Amax and 168 LRAB. Different weighted powders obviously. Groups v well. 0.3" groups using 140 Partitions. @ 1" - 162 Amax. Did tonight.

Where is that ni chrony ? I'd better look see.

I get an average of just slightly over 2,800 fps in a 20" .308 using 2206H and 150gr SST's. It's a very warm load but certainly not max. Case life is very good with Lapua brass.

Main issue is managing to fit 47.7gn of 2208 in the case, I'm crunching down the powder with 46.5gn and a shorter projectile (144gn FMJ).
