Had some failures on animals with TTSX...no issues with lead cores
I had multiple faliures with cup and core hence going to the barnes. Zero fails.

    How did the projectile fail?

No you just don't understand how they work.
They open up right down to around 1800fps bone or no bone...in fact they open up very fast but what they don't do is fragment and that is why even light for caliber ones will almost always exit as they don't lose any weight, this is also why they need to be driven FAST to work well as otherwise they don't transfer shock. 3000fps is minimum for decent performance 3200-3300 is much better.
Cup and cores don't do well at those speeds.

I've never had so many drop on the spot kills until I started using 100g tsx's at 3300 fps

    What cal? @Tahr
Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.

I dropped a few big reds with the Barnes 130ttsx over 50gr of 2208 ( max compressed load ) @ around 3000fps from memory in a 20" 308win. They did a better job at close range than the 150gr sst that would blow to bits on the skin at times.

I've recovered one 130ttsx and it looks the same. They are good I'd agree and I'd say the 110 should be as good.

110gr Barnes in the 270 makes for exceptional killing if you do your bit. Saves the embarrassment that SOME 270 owners have to face.

I'm only running 47.5gr at the moment which isn't max and using CCIs I think.

I have been using the same projectile in my 16" bbl 308 in front of H335 for 2995fps. It has been a very effective killer on sika and reds out to 150 odd metres.
