If you don't hit bone they pencil straight thru
Try Speer hot cores.... you will not be disappointed
No you just don't understand how they work.
They open up right down to around 1800fps bone or no bone...in fact they open up very fast but what they don't do is fragment and that is why even light for caliber ones will almost always exit as they don't lose any weight, this is also why they need to be driven FAST to work well as otherwise they don't transfer shock. 3000fps is minimum for decent performance 3200-3300 is much better.
Cup and cores don't do well at those speeds.

"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.
308Win One chambering to rule them all.
I've never had so many drop on the spot kills until I started using 100g tsx's at 3300 fps
Here's a couple of Brian's. Seem to work.
I just wanna smack red stags over in the bush and scrub without dragging my 300wm through the shit. Something thats not going to let me down really. From 10 to 300m
I also have some 165 sierra gamekings to try. Ill smoke a few animals and see how each go
What cal? @Tahr
Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.
110gr Barnes in the 270 makes for exceptional killing if you do your bit. Saves the embarrassment that SOME 270 owners have to face.
cheers you fellas. Pills and powder here tomorrow, so ill have a suss out over weekend and hopefully go for a look for a venison or two
