You need to shoot off hand standing, off a rest prone its hard to handle without padding of some sort. Ill bang 20 of these away one after the other, the steel butt plate leaves a nice imprint and bruise. I have a gell pad that goes on my shoulder, theyre great

I tried paper patching for my double rifle but with a full case ( 120 gr ) of todays black powder it would not achieve the velocity needed to regulate. Swiss BP was the best but still not up to the standard of the old day powder the Pom's used.

Velocity is thrilling, but diameter does the real killing.

    You have projectile envy Barefoot
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Probably a compaction prob? Because I have a shouldered case and with BP you cannot have any air gaps, I have to use a filler, such as corn meal. But corn meal absorbs moisture and it a bastard to load along with the wads and grease cookie. 85 grains fills the case passed the shoulder. Am going to look for a slow burning smokeless powder to load it and guess a clean barrel will be a benefit. Straight cases are great for BP that's why I shoot mostly 45/70
