Interesting cast bullet performance. Lee 230-452-TC (for 1911s not 45-70s) paper patched, 14 gn Trail Boss, 100yd open sights, 45-70 Marlin Guide Gun, lead from old nails on a 3 inch clay clod.

Bullet mushroomed beautifully expanding from .452 - .680. The projectile only dented the plywood back board with the clay pancaked on the front of it so I 'm thinking I'll keep this load just for small game and clod busting.

In the background, 425gn Lyman that "260 Rem" made up for me ages ago, I rekon these things would crack the engine block on an elephant, a factory 300 HP Federal, my PP Frankenbullet and at the bottom right the mushroom.
