I hit a fallow with a 55 gr v-max at less than ten metres out of a 22-250 a few years back. F@$&ing big hole at the base of the neck, it fell down the bank to my feet and I had to finish it with a knife. Put me off shooting deer with that load for a while. Went and bought some Norma Oryx's but never used them.

Yip - Will be going back to shooting anything bigger with soft points from now on - will keep this load around for zapping pests though.
