Thanks for that, data received. Much appreciated.
I am a little confused re the energy figures at 775 yard. My ballistic program (Strelok Pro) shows the energy figure for a 143gn ELDX going 2780 at 775 yards to be 700 foot Lbs.
    What am I missing here?

Somethings up with your bc numbers. You aren't using a g7 number in a g1 box are you?

A 143 eldx leaving at 2550 will hold 1800 fps and 1000 ft lb out to 600 yards

The tikka 6.5 barrels are slow aye, factory 143 does 2500 in my 16 inch kimber

Ahaah got it the Strelok still had the default BC in the stats. I fixed that and thing started to look more like you quote above. Yeah I was pretty disappointed in the velocity of the Pro Hunter loads in the Tikka. However with Handloads I now agree that the ELDX projectiles look like the way to go. Lets hope components get as little easier to get.

I wouldnt write off the factory precision hunter ammo in your gun even with it being a bit slow, if it is accurate. I seem to read mixed reviews from people about the ELDX but for myself, As per earlier post, ive shot plenty of deer with them at 2600fps out to 400m, one being a decent size red stag at just over 400m (broadside shot into the shoulder) and it dropped on the spot, projectile did a great job. Even at 2600fps your still somewhere around 1000ftlbs/1800fps at just over 600 yards.

Thanks for all the feedback and shared experience team, I've got some loaded for a ladder test to see how far I can push them, not sure when I'll get out and send them with the wonderful weather we've got coming up

A cracker day to get out and verify some load data.
The 10" mild steel gong (8mm plate) was set at 550yrds, @tikka6.5 using 6.5 Creedmoor with 142LRAB and myself with 143eldx in PRC.
The impact velocity for the 142LRAB @2000fps and the 143eldx @2190fps. The 142LRAB made some impressive holes but did not penetrate like the 143eldx. What was strange is how the jacket of the 143eldx peeled off as it penetrated.
I guess a animal will not stand a chance with either of these fine projectiles with good shot placement.

Shot a big red hind last night. Was just over 400y and was a bit rushed so shot was high and back. Hind made it 30y downhill. First shot at an animal with the 6.5PRC and 143gn ELDX and very happy.
