I met a bloke who only hunted with a single shot custom rifle, action was a No 1 and he had it chambered in .30-404 Jefferey. 3600 with a 165gr, 27" barrel.

That would be close to .30-375? or is it basically a RUM?

Bigger than a 30-375, a wee bit bigger than a Rum.

I spent 2 days this week with some Aussies.
The type who like there faces pixilated if there's a camera around.
One them has been a sniper instructor at Bindoon for 30+ years.
I wouldn't of wanted to be a soda can at 1.2kms + even in the wind.
I was very impressed and realised I sucked

Interesting...must have been about 10 years ago I saw a Ruger No.1 in that chambering sitting on the rack in Deadeye Dicks in Levin. Wonder if it was the same rifle?

I do not doubt JM skills or the ability of a 9mm to make the shot for a minute but how do you know you have a 153ft of hold over with a dot sight?

This is my favourite .338 wildcat. A 30-338 improved longer neck - 35deg shoulder- slightly less taper, built it to shoot the 200gn A-Max 3150fps easily. Have had it now for 4 years and still on first barrel (600rnd)
